Come Stroll Eglinton/Oakwood With Art Starts this Saturday!

As much as we love our new home in the Yorkdale Community Arts Centre, we still have strong ties to our old ‘hood of Eglinton and Oakwood. Wanna come take a walk with us this Saturday to see what Eglinton is really all about? Actually it won’t just be us – we’ve teamed up with some fantastic neighbourhood orgs to bring you the Eglinton and Oakwood Jane’s Walk. Jane’s Walks are a great way to not only learn something about a nabe that you’re familiar with, but also to discover a whole new neighbourhood that you never had the chance to check out.
Meeting Place: Southeast corner of Dufferin and Eglinton
When: Saturday May 1st, 1 pm – 2:30 pm
Transit: Take the Dufferin bus to Eglinton, or the Eglinton bus to Dufferin
Come walk with us as we visit some of the places in our neighbourhood where our community comes to life. From churches to barbershops, the local library and youth centre, to the array of eateries that draw people in with the wonderful aromas of beef patties and jerk chicken. See how these diverse spaces and some artistic influences bring people together in a unique way!
This walk is hosted by Macaulay Child Development Centre, Montage Support Services, Police 13 Division, Eglinton Community Initiative, Hope Community Development International, Inc., Art Starts, For Youth Initiative & The Bridge, Maria Shchuka Library and Oakwood Village BIA, York Eglinton BIA and community members.
Check out all 120 Toronto area Jane’s Walks here.
