We’re thrilled to announce that as of March 18th 2010, we’re moving our office to the beautiful Yorkdale Community Arts Centre, conveniently located on the lower level of the Yorkdale Mall. Not only will we get to share our state-of-the-art gallery and new programming space with all four of the communities that we work with, but it also gives us the opportunity to begin developing and offering fee-for-service programs as a means of providing some sustainable funding to our free programs in under-served neighbourhoods. Sweet! Stay tuned for news on our studio-warming party in April.

One World: Glendower is a music/recording program conceptualized and designed in its entirety by youth in Scarborough’s Steeles L’Amoreaux neighbourhood with funding from the Laidlaw Foundation and Telus. Over four months, 8 youth worked with artists and experimented with writing, performing, recording and producing their own music. Their ultimate goal? To use their creativity to better the community by creating an environment that facilitates the development of character, empathy and social responsibility.
