Program Without Walls
Programs for caregivers and children under 6, in partnership with Macaulay Child Development Centre.
Program Without Walls (PWW) is a collaborative initiative comprised of many components, from nutrition to education to community development. During all PWW programs, caregivers work with a professional artist while the children engage with a children’s artist and child care staff. Programs are multicultural and multilingual, usually 8 weeks in length and are held in different locations throughout central northwest Toronto and coordinated by Program Manager Fatima Kazmi
Dramatic Expressions
Caregivers work with a professional dramatist to create a dynamic theatrical production based on personal and collective interests, struggles and accomplishments.
Creative Expressions
Caregivers work collaboratively with professional visual artists in a wide variety of media. Past programs explored fashion design, embroidery, jewelry making, painting, quilting, silk-screening sculpture and more.
Stressbusters
Stressbusters uses dramatic and visual arts to help women explore stress and anger in their lives and develop positive strategies to help them relax and stay calm while facing the challenges of parenting. A concurrent group for preschool children provides social skill-building and some relaxation techniques for children.
